Please note: 30th August is the new Deadline for Submissions
The idea is to move this year's JOBURG FRINGE over to Sandton, to be in proximity to the
Joburg Art Fair. In walking distance, literally, making it dead simple for visitors and gallerists to find the good stuff.
We are keeping the space rent the same as last year, but space is precious in Sandton, so it is likely that there will be smaller area for each exhibitor. Something to bear in mind as you prepare for the submission deadline:
Friday 30th August 2013
Once again the Joburg Fringe will hold the special show:VIDEOart!
VIDEOart! began as a special event on the Joburg Fringe in 2010, and has been held each year since.
In 2012 VIDEOart! was curated by Kevin Yates of AFDA CT put together a group of seven experimental films collectively titled Of Gravity and Life: A Selection of AFDA CT.
Aryan Kaganof: "This curation is, on advice from Claudia Shneider, UNTHEMED. It simply slaps together the most impressive work in video I have seen by South African artists in the year since the previous Joburg Fringe. It is a very South African intervention.
In 2010 VIDEOart! was curated by Claudia Shneider and comprised 24 video artists working locally and internationally. The videos were shown at various venues around the city during the time of the Joburg Fringe and the Joburg Art Fair.
